Coley Conter
Coley Conter is an educational consultant and literacy coach who supports schools and districts, nationally and internationally, by providing energizing and practical professional development. Her deep belief in student and teacher agency guides her work. To bring her professional development to life, Coley combines research-based literacy practices alongside Adult Learning Theory. She works with schools to on everything from developing curriculum, prioritizing nonfiction, offering actionable feedback, and leaning into authentic writing processes. She’s the co-author of A High School English Teacher’s Guide to Writing Literary Analysis and A High School English Teacher’s Guide to Writing Memoir. Although Coley wears many hats, her role as a high school English teacher is her favorite.
Dr. Mary Ehrenworth
Dr. Mary Ehrenworth co-led a think tank on global literacy at Teachers College, Columbia University, for twenty years. She now runs Ehrenworth Literacy Innovations, working nationally and globally to empower teachers and students through critical literacies and collaborative inquiry. Mary is the author and co-author of many books and articles, including most recently, AI-Enhanced Literacy and Vocabulary Connections: A Structured Approach to Deepening Students’ Expressive and Academic Language. From that day long ago when a beloved teacher gave her The Secret Garden, to the days she now spends supporting children and teachers in becoming powerful and passionate readers and writers, Mary has been lucky enough to spend her time among things she loves best: books, kids, and teachers.
Lauren Gould
Lauren Gould is an instructional coach and literacy consultant who partners with schools to design curricular tools that foster connection, creativity, and clarity. She believes learning should be curious, compassionate, and just the right amount of messy. Lauren blends research-based instructional practices with innovative curriculum design, drawing on her experiences at Teachers College of Columbia University, The American School of Barcelona, and in leadership roles across independent schools. She is the co-author of A High School English Teacher’s Guide to Writing Literary Analysis and A High School English Teacher’s Guide to Writing Memoir. Whether in the classroom or alongside colleagues, she is most energized by the moments when teachers and students step into their own agency.
